What’s New – Term 2

On May 21st, 2017

Learn from the Masters

We have chosen French artist Marc Chagall for inspiration reference for term 2, 2017.
Marc Chagall’s work is very inspirational for our young students as he drew and painted enchanting stories of his childhood, whilst growing up in a large Jewish family in a country village in Russia. His work is full of magic and poetic dreaming, with compositions full of shifting planes, floating objects and inverted imagery with little or no perspective. The loving relationship between humans and animals is very strong in his work, as is the use of bold and contrasting colours. His work inspires our students to be free and imaginative, teaching them to break away from reality and draw and paint from the heart.

Mapping Melbourne 2016

On September 10th, 2016

Multicultural Arts Victoria (MAV) would like to invite New Star Art School to participate in Mapping Melbourne 2016. The aim is inspire local budding artists and to create a strong awareness and ongoing connection with China and Melbourne through the arts.

Multicultural Arts Victoria strongly supports projects that facilitate and promote awareness of cultural diversity and encourage acceptance of difference and harmonious relations. MAV is the peak state arts body in Victoria supporting the artists and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Mapping Melbourne (MM) is a new initiative of Multicultural Arts Victoria. Mapping Melbourne is about mapping our Asian cultural identity in Melbourne,

Mapping Melbourne is also about new perspectives, new possibility and new expressions: It is a multi-artform festival that is held in the heart of Melbourne annually to celebrate our identity and our connections to the world.

Mapping Melbourne will demonstrate the vibrant influence China has on Melbourne’s cultural dynamism, thus strengthening Victoria’s role as Australia’s cultural capital, and our role in promoting cultural diplomacy and friendship through the Arts with China.

I look forward to profiling contemporary arts from the New Star Art School in multicultural Melbourne and building on an ongoing relationship with the school.

Yours sincerely

New Star Art School releases lesson programming book and student’s art works collection

On September 10th, 2016

Art education is a discipline of learning. Aside from possessing a solid professional groundwork, what is even more important for outstanding teachers of art is to have a forward-looking mentality of visual art. They understand how to release to the maximum their student’s potential and guide them with well-defined objectives, so as to help them achieve the best result in their artworks.

What is collected here is part of the curricula of Melbourne’s New Star Art. It is the result of our teachers’ hard work, a crystalline condensation of their dedicated exploration in teaching. New Star Art hopes to keep walking in the front of art education, to enable more students to take off here!
