Children’s Art Classes

New Star Art School conducts art classes for children weekly during the school term at various locations. It offers a wide range of classes suitable for students aged 4 years to 18 years old with an emphasis on developing drawing skills.

We have established a coloured star arts program that opens up a variety of creative art opportunities to any student studying at New Star Art School.

  • Small classes, group and individual children’s art classes are available
  • All teachers have both Chinese & Australian tertiary qualifications with years of experience in art teaching
  • Children aged 5 years and above are eligible for enrollment

The Red star program (Primary) is open to children from 4 years onwards, who want to extend and discover their creative and imaginative ability. This level opens the eyes and mind to observing and exploring the magic world around them and leads to developing confidence with lines, shapes and colours. Students will experiment with the basic art elements through visual and imaginative images. Students who pass successfully will receive a Red Star Certificate. (Levels 1, 2, 3 are available)

The Yellow star program (intermediate) is designed to encourage young minds to stretch their creative and imaginative abilities. Students will explore the three dimensional world through learning light, shade, space, texture and colors. They will understand the general concept of art, such as composition, contrasting etc. Students who pass successfully will receive a Yellow Star Certificate. (Levels 1, 2, 3 are available)

The Blue star program (advanced) is open to advanced students who want to develop and enhance their creative and imaginative skills. Students at this level study professional drawing, design, sketching, portrait work, landscape and multi-media. They will combine all the elements of art to create a quality art expression. Students who pass successfully will receive a Blue Star Certificate. (Levels 1, 2, 3 are available)

The Green star program (advanced) is available to master students who have a desire to nourish and sustain their artistic creativity to professional standards, providing them with the skills to take on every opportunity that presents itself. At this level the culmination of the entire coloured star arts program is subjected to qualification testing. This is the highest grade attainable and requires discipline and refined skills. Master students who have successfully qualified at this level are eligible to tutor the New Star Art technique and will receive a Green Star Certificate. (Levels 1, 2, 3)

Overall, the New Star Art education process is not only about learning art techniques, it also opens up minds to the philosophy of life. Students working in the coloured star programs will enjoy highly developed artistic skills, build self confidence and learn to expand on their imaginative and creative thought processes, which has far reaching benefits for the future of all. The New Star Art Certificate assessment is processed annually.
